Yesterday I visited Domaine Carneros. I’ve been there before. Several times. I very much have enjoyed their sparkling wine, service and nice view from the terrace / patio.
This isn’t just a stately châteaux. It is a world-class Sparkling Wine and Pinot Noir production facility sitting on 110 acres of land. They own four vineyards in Los Carneros, primarily planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The winery was built in 1987 and opened in 1988 and it is solar powered. Here’s a key fact: They have had the same winemaker since they opened their doors.
Some of you know I’m on a Pinot Noir quest and I found one that I very much enjoyed here yesterday.
The one on the right is one that they have been producing for a while. The Famous Gate refers to the gate at the entrance to the winery that was a gift. But it was the one on the left that really caught my attention. La Terre Promise. The Promise Land. Maybe this is a good sign. Maybe I have hit the promise land. Maybe I won’t give up on Pinot. I did purchase a bottle and will share more when I actually open it.
